After over 5 years, Ubisoft’s tactical shooter Rainbow Six Siege continues to grow bigger, breaking its old record of all-time active players on Steam.

Earlier today, Rainbow Six Siege peaked at 201,053 concurrent players, as recorded by Valve’s own Steam stat tracker.

After a shaky launch back in April 2015, Rainbow Six Siege has maintained a solid online presence, gaining over 55,000 average players since December 2017, according to Steam Charts.

The game saw its most active players on Steam back in March 2020, during last the Six Invitational. Siege had around 119,877 monthly users, its highest average player count, and also set its previous concurrent player record of 198,567 players in that month.

With the new season, Crimson Heist, Rainbow Six Siege has set foot into Year 6, and the game is showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon. Siege’s Y6S1 Crimson Heist brought a lot of new content, including the new operator ‘Flores’, map reworks, new sidearms, and more.

To celebrate all this new content, Siege is having a free-to-play weekend, which helped to bring this boost of new players and set this new record. This free-weekend will run until March 25, and players on both PC and consoles can download and try the full game for free right now. And if you like the game, you can purchase it at a discounted price on all online stores.
